WATSUMI
An underwater MMO on Solana. Dive a drowned city, salvage its ruins, and trade your finds.
Overview
Long ago a city sank into the dark — the palace of Watatsumi, the sea god. You're a diver who found it. Descend through the ruins, pry relics loose, and bring them up to trade with other divers.
WATSUMI is built by adventurers, for adventurers. Everything you salvage is yours — to keep, to use, or to sell. There are no promises of profit here, only a world to explore and things to find.
Getting started
- Open the game and pick up your gear — you spawn in The Hub, the calm air pocket at the center of the ruins.
- Move by clicking the seafloor. Your diver swims to where you tapped.
- Connect a wallet (Phantom or Solflare) from the
Connectbutton.
The world
The ruins are a branching dungeon: a central Hub with four corridors leading out to four sunken rooms. The drowned palace of Watatsumi rises at the heart of it.
North Vault
Relics and pearls buried in the old treasury.
East Pearl Chamber
The deepest, dimmest room — pearls and rare gems.
South Den
Kelp beds and fish among the coral.
West Shrine
A broken shrine guarded by toppled columns.
Salvaging
Salvage points glow with a cyan ring. Click one and your diver swims over and works it — a progress ring fills above your head, then the loot drops into your satchel.
- Each node gives a small random haul, then depletes and regenerates after a short cooldown.
- Using the matching tool for a node makes you salvage faster.
- Loot stacks up to 999 per slot. Different rooms hold different finds.
Tools
- 🪝 Salvage hook — relics and pearls (clams, urns).
- 🔱 Spear — fish.
- ⛏️ Chisel — coral and gems from stone.
- 🥅 Net — kelp and loose drift.
- 🔦 Dive light — see in the dark rooms.
- 🧭 Compass — find your way between rooms.
Switch tools with the hotbar or number keys 1–6.
Oxygen & depth
Diving runs on oxygen. Your O₂ slowly drains while you're out in the ruins and refills in the Hub. The HUD shows your current depth as you move deeper.
Pearls & market
Pearls are the in-game currency you earn from salvage. Open the Market to trade.
- List relics and resources for pearls, or list pearls for $WATSU.
- When someone buys, the seller keeps 95% — 5% goes to the tide pool (treasury).
- Skins are cosmetic. They change how your diver looks and nothing else — never your stats.
$WATSU & access
$WATSU is the WATSUMI token on Solana. It's used for access and as a tradeable currency inside the game.
- Before launch: the dive is free — connect a wallet and explore.
- After launch: you'll need to hold $WATSU to dive. Your balance is checked on-chain, server-side.

FAQ
Do I need a wallet to play?
Before launch, no — the dive is free, just connect to save progress. After launch you'll need a wallet holding $WATSU.
Which wallets are supported?
Phantom and Solflare. Connect either from the Connect button in-game.
Will you ever ask for my seed phrase?
Never. Connecting only ever uses a normal wallet sign-in (a signature). If anything asks for your seed phrase, it isn't us — don't paste it.
Is $WATSU "play to earn"?
No. WATSUMI makes no promises of earnings. $WATSU gates access after launch and is a currency you can trade in the market — that's it.
How much $WATSU do I need after launch?
A small minimum — by default holding any amount is enough. Your balance is verified on-chain, server-side, so it can't be faked.
What are pearls?
The in-game currency you earn by salvaging. Spend them on cosmetics and listings, or trade them for $WATSU on the market.
Do skins change my stats?
No. Skins are purely cosmetic — they change how your diver looks and nothing else.
What happens if I run out of oxygen?
Head back to the Hub to refill. In the full game, running dry out in the deep has consequences — so keep an eye on the O₂ bar.
Is the player count real?
Yes. Online and monthly diver counts come from live presence on our backend — never invented numbers.
When does WATSUMI launch?
20 June 2026 — 16:00 UTC. The countdown is on the home page.
